So what’s drawing the pros to Malaga?
Ideal Climate
Malaga boasts a mild Mediterranean climate, making it perfect for year-round cycling. The winters are mild, allowing for comfortable riding conditions even in the colder months, while the summers are warm but bearable, especially with the coastal breeze.
Terrain
Whether you prefer challenging climbs, rolling hills, or flat coastal rides, Malaga has it all. The region offers a mix of coastal roads with stunning sea views and inland routes that take you through picturesque villages and rugged mountains. This variety ensures that every ride can be a new adventure. If the climbs are good enough for Jonas Vingegaard to prepare for his tour de France, trust us when we say they’re big enough for you.

Accessibility
Malaga airport is extremely well served and flights can often be found at very reasonable rates. In terms of riding accessibility, the city does offer it all, a vibrant city centre but at the same time, you can be out into the mountainous countryside within 5kms. You can easily do a 40km ride from the city center and gain 1000 m of elevation.
Excellent Infrastructure
Malaga has invested heavily in its cycling infrastructure, with well-maintained roads, dedicated bike lanes, and numerous cycling-friendly cafes and accommodations. The local community is welcoming to cyclists, and you’ll find plenty of support services, from bike rentals to repair shops.
Cultural and Culinary Delights
Beyond the bike, Malaga offers rich cultural experiences and delectable cuisine. After a day of training, you can explore historic sites, enjoy traditional Spanish tapas, or relax on the beautiful beaches. The blend of sport and leisure makes it an ideal location for both serious training and relaxation.
