Many of Fast Monkey Bike Rental customers are willing to do a MTB route. Although, sometimes our pace of life avoid us to train as much as we would like. For this reason, they doubt if they would be able to finish the route. Or they are afraid not to enjoy it. This should never be an obstacle to enjoy bike and nature, so it is very important to have an alternative available given this case: the E-MTB.
E-MTB and the rise of E-Enduro
At Fast Monkey we understand this situation, so we offer our customers the possibility of getting the most out of their routes; that is why we have available both a fork and full suspension e-MTB bike Rentals.

Jarapalos, La Bola, or several singletracks… in Malaga, you can find the best MTB trails. Nevertheless, in the case you do not wish to go on your own to get lost in a place you do not know, we do also provide the possibility of getting a guide who perfectly knows marvelous routes.

As bikers, we would like to recommend you these routes to use up these extraordinary thoroughbreds and apply their maximum efficiency:
Discover Mijas Mountains
If you were thinking about taking a stroll with our ORBEA KERAM 15, we advise you to visit Jarapalos.
A wonderful place in the middle of the nature. We will face one of the classics on the Mijas Mountains. We will head to Torremolinos and Churriana with some nice single tracks, then after some asphalt along Alhaurin we will start the “Jarapalos Climb”.
The Jarapalos Climb is a 4,8Km Climb with 8% elevation average. We will descend to Mijas and then we will do a nice Single-track Downhill to the Sea Level before come back to FMK.
JARAPALOS ROUTE
Let’s begin this route at FMK, direction Alhaurín de la Torre all along the coast direction Málaga. We will reach the Golf Club at Guadalmar, and turn to left.
Now, we have to keep going straight on at the first roundabout. When we continue all straight, next thing to do is take the road direction Churriana at the second roundabout.
At this point, we climb a slight ramp few meters until you reach a small roundabout; direction Alhaurín de la Torre. You shall cross the whole village until an area for shooting called “el pichón”, by the road outside the city.
Here, just get into de countryside to get to Jarapalos. After 15 kms climbing up, we arrive to the spring of Jarapalos.
This is a great place to have a break, refilling your bottle, and taking some pictures of the amazing views.
Then, take the path on your right to begin to descend. It is important to keep an eye on the floor, since there are many detached rocks.
This part of the route is easy, since we just have to follow the route we did before. At the small roundabout where you chose Alhaurín de la Torre, we follow indications to Torremolinos again.
Many bikers coincide in the thought that this is a route with amazing views. Also, it combines both technical sections, and non-technical paths.
In brief, you get to have the perfect combination, and many stretches with shadows, which is a fabulous advantage in Málaga during the summer months.
Benalmádena, the Enduro little gem
If you prefer a full suspension experience with our ORBEA WILD FS, an advisable option could be the Calamorro. The summit of the Calamorro Mountain, the highest spot in Benalmadena, is close to 800 meters above sea level. You will be able to contemplate the very best views of the Costa del Sol, the Sierra Nevada and, on clear days, Gibraltar and the African Coast.
CALAMORRO SINGLE TRACKS
We start at our store Fast Monkey in Benalmádena. Follow the main avenue to the windmill roundabout, turn right and start a hard ramp that will not end until you reach the top of the mountain.
We cross the entire Arroyo de la Miel until we reach the entrance of the highway. At this point we will get through a small tunnel. We continue our way 500 meters to the urbanization. Here, the Cañada del Lobo trail and the top of the Calamorro begins.
Then, the climb softens quite a bit and becomes quite bearable: but let’s not fool ourselves as the route gets hard again right away. The terrain is good, white gravel and some sand, wide track, although in the descent you have to be careful and you can skid a little.
We find ramps of more than 20%. Do not worry, from km 6 we will have a little respite.
When we reach the crossroads, we will take the path on the right. The small climb between pine trees will take us to the mythical viewpoint of the Cañada del Lobo. Take the opportunity to enjoy the views and to regain strength with an energy bar and drink.
The route continues: now the slightly more technical part begins, as it runs through an area of singletracks around an old quarry surrounded by a pine forest. Stony ground with plenty of sand, but very funny.
After this section we go to the top of Calamorro, from the crossing it is just over 1.5 km with a slope of 115 meters, so it is a good slope, with some 20% sections.
At this point, where the Benalmadena cablecar arrives, we can buy water and some food if necessary.
From now on it is all descent by the so-called R-1. This one is a narrow path with a very impressive first part, which take us to the Arroyo de los Muertos.
In this area we find some artificial jumps and cambers, remember that this section is well known by the local descenders and free riders.
Definitely a route with a little of everything. Good ups and downs dizzying, surrounded by spectacular environments and a short distance from the city.
