The Costa del Sol is a reference worldwide in terms of tourism, sun and beach, but it is also becoming a destination for all cycling enthusiasts regardless of the modality they practice: road, MTB, Enduro… they all have their place here.
The privileged environment of Malaga, -with a mountainous terrain that some describe as the Southern Pyrenees- quiet roads and mild weather throughout the year and an average of 300 sunny days, makes every year more cyclists decide to spend holidays in Malaga enjoying their passion.

Cycling on the Costa del Sol allows you to live, from a different perspective, unique environments and places that normally are not visited during sightseeing tours. From top-notch ports scattered throughout the province, such as Puerto del León, a mythical climb for all local cyclists to an environment full of history that is worth knowing, dotted by many old farmhouses known as ventas. These are now restaurants that offer typical meals of the area -many of them are more than 300 years old, such as the Venta Patas Cortas since 1490.
The area of Torremolinos and Benalmádena has perhaps the best hotel offer in the entire province. Just 15 minutes away from the airport by car and connected by train and bus to the capital, offers unique environments to discover by bike, both road and MTB.
The hard climb to the Repetidor de Mijas, better known as Las Antenas, is the ideal starting point to visit villages such as Coín, Monda, Guaro, Tolox, Ojén and its natural park of El Juanar. Here you can visit its Refuge, a place where illustrious people stayed like King Alfonso XIII or General Charles de Gaulle, who finished writing his memoirs in 1970. In addition, it’s the habitat of an unique species of pinsapo, a kind of pine tree, that survives here since the Tertiary era.
Landscapes
Landscapes that will surprise you, such as El Chorro area, with its famous Caminito del Rey, a mountainous scenery dotted with lakes and forests. Area of high geological value where you can also visit the ruins of the old muladí fortress of Bobastro.

To discover the mountains, there are several MTB tracks very close to Benalmádena and Torremolinos: the route of Jarapalo and La Bola, a hard MTB route that will undoubtedly delight bikers with a high physical and technical level, or Endless singletracks around the mountains.
Last but not least, the uplift through Benalmadena’s Cable Car, where you will find the bike park and the most challenging Enduro lines down.
